Labor Day

Today at Chick-fil-A, we had a labor day special: If you wore any sports attire, you received a free sandwich. It was so much fun to see everybody in their sports shirts come for the free food!

We got alot of Aggies, which my boss said it didn't apply to them!!! Haha!

I worked 7:30 to 2:30, but we didn't start that special until lunch at 10:30. When I left, we had given out around 700 free sandwiches! Soo much fun!

a very much needed update!

Hey everybody!

I haven't updated since May! I guess my life is just not that exciting!
So much has happened so let me fill you in on what has happened since May!

  • This summer, I started an internship (yes, it's paid!), with San Angelo Broadway Academy, SABA for short! I was so ecstatic when I worked this internship because I was able to observe teaching students to do theater, which is what I want to do after college. It was so, so much fun!! We held to summer camps for approximately 60 kids which lasted 9-4 every day for three weeks! At the end of the third week, we put up a full production, just like any of our other 12-week shows. It was truly incredible and amazing to me! I am still interning during the school year but only work as an intern two days a week. Three weeks ago, my boss, Angela Hill, offered me a job as an office assistant there at SABA! I started working when school started, and I love, love it! It is such a slow pace job compared to Chick-fil-A and so much less stressful! I still work at Chick-fil-A three days a week in the evenings and work at SABA every weekday afternoon until five or six.
  • School obviously started! I am taking a full load of 17 hours including 4 core classes and 2 specialty classes. Oh, and I'm taking racquetball! I absolutely love it! SO much fun! Classes are going okay...some are kind of hard, not really though, just ALOT of reading. I feel as if I don't have time to soak anything in because I'm reading so much! I'm taking Public Speaking. I actually had a nightmare about this class because I hate speaking in public so much! I have a great teacher, though, and I'm really starting to like it! I give my first speech on Wednesday! Eek!!
So yeah, like I said, not too exciting of a life I live!
I really, really want to start updating more.
It just becomes harder, especially with facebook and twitter!
But we'll see.
Maybe.
That's all for now!
Later.

No more school!

Yesterday was my last day of school! I'm just waiting on grades to be put up!

To be honest, I'm a little scared about math, cause I'm not very good at it and it was hard for me but I'm leaving it up to God!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Here it is...

So its May...and my life has starting to slow down a bit but I', not quite there. It's been a crazy semester but I've loved every minute of it. Here's a little bit of an update since March.

  • Like I said earlier, I was hired as a sound man for a show at ASU called "Picnic". It was a really great experience and I really enjoyed being a part of the show. It was a paid position but I gave up the pay to get hours for a class that I needed. I worked on that show starting April 17, we opened the show April 22 and ran for two weekends.
  • I am currently working on a show with SABA: "Peter Pan". We are in the midst of pre-tech week and next week is tech week. We open May 22 and only run for that weekend.
  • Also, as of right now, I only have one more final to take! Woohoo!!
  • This summer, I was offered a paid internship with SABA until I graduate from college. During the summer, its everyday because they run two summer camps where the kids learn basic theater fundamentals and at the end perform a show. The shows this summer are "Beauty and the Beast" and "Alice in Wonderland." After much thought, I have decided to stay at Chick-fil-A this summer and work evenings. This way, I will have two forms of income and can start building up my savings account again. During the school year, they perform one show in the fall and one show in the spring with biweekly rehearsals. I am so excited about this internship because I will be getting training in teaching theater to kids, which is what I want to do when I graduate. I will assist in teching some shows, which also is great experience and something theat every teacher certification student should have a good handle on.
Thats pretty much it, not very exciting, I know! I keep saying I'll get better at blogging, maybe someday it will be true!!

Picnic

We are doing a show at ASU called "Picnic", its a drama so its very dramatic.

Anyway, I signed up for crew and I actually got put on the Production Staff!! I am the Master Sound Technician for the show...and I have no idea what that means but it sure sounds important. Hope I don't mess up!

Its beginning to rain!!

Okay so I'm sitting in my government class and it thunders really loud. My professor said "What was that?", but not exactly like that, he used other words. I immediately thought to myself, "Its going to rain and I have to walk across campus!!"

K so I start walking, its not bad just a light drizzle. I was parked at the Carr building so when I was walking past the Carr, very close the the parking lot, it just began to come down. I got soaked!! I didn't really have time to go home and change so I stayed the way I was! So it stops raining while I'm in class again. But as soon as I got out, it started raining again!! Grr!!

I should really invest in an umbrella!
